I signed up for the Earth Rock Run half marathon! The race is on April 30th, 2017. This 13.1 mile race takes place right here in Amesbury and goes into South Hampton and Newton. There are bands throughout the course and a party after, plus swag for signing up. If I’m fast enough I might get an award, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves yet. This will be the longest race I’ve done, building on the 10 miler I did in 2008 (1:23:30 at 8:20 pace). I thought my distance days were behind me when I became a sprinter — surprise!
I decided to join the Our Neighbors’ Table team for this race. They’ve asked me to complete a fundraising effort and I am happy to do so. Our Neighbors’ Table is a local food pantry that does a great job assisting the community in providing food to those who need it. For every dollar I raise, one meal will be available to a neighbor of mine who can’t afford it. This is absolutely a cause I am happy to support, and hope you will help me do so!
